“So Shiny”

As I slowly approach old age sometimes I can just hear that crab singing ” You don’t swing it like you use to man”. Now you may be sitting there saying where in the hell does that come from. Oh well, let me tell you “Moana”. “My oh My” how many times have I watched that movie. Not only just the movie this one particular song that my daughter seems to love oh so much. While growing up watching movies and just observing the world you would always hear kids saying “again again”. Not once did it dawn on me that this would be my life someday. If you even say the word shiny she starts to dance. Then she gets to throwing poor toys by the hair re-enacting the moves and actions from the movie. Now at first, I was just tired of the song in general then one day it happened I found myself singing that damn song. Then here she comes “daddy daddy” let’s watch “shiny” so now I’m prancing around the room with her talking about how I became so “Crabulous” lord help me. The crazy part is the movie is not half bad actually a pretty decent movie actually. Speaking of that there is a couple of the latest Pixar and Disney movies for a parent are pretty good and wouldn’t hurt to watch. Now back to the problem at home what am I going to do about her this crab and Moana. What makes it so difficult is my “baby girlz” loves music I mean lovessssss music (excuse the extra “s” but she really loves it). That leaves me with one unfortunate thought for me. That there will be plenty of more sing-alongs and musicals in the future. As the saying goes if you can’t beat them join them so with that being said when that crab hits the big screen “It’s on” I’m right along with her doing my spin moves (couple moves I got from some praise dancers without permission). You know what kills me though her reenacting how the crab throws around Maui with her own Moana doll. If you were to walk in on this not knowing about the movie my parenting may be in question LOL. Every parent loves how their child feels the need for their participation. Until you get the over the excessive child. Who won’t even let you go to the bathroom without rewinding while dancing to her favorite tune. Now you’re walking around with a little wet spot on your pants. Since  your blatter control isn’t the same as it was 5 years ago hell it wasn’t that good then LOL. I do not own the copyrights to that song. I know we have sung it so much somebody is looking to get paid off of it. Until the next time stay Trendy Keep being a Father and remember ” You don’t swing it like you use to man” .
